The vocabulary is presented as follows:

• Verbs are shown in the infinitive form.
• Nouns are shown with articles and plurals.
• A sentence is given as an example for each word so that the meaning is clear.
• Particularly important words are printed in bold – these constitute core vocabulary. These words are important for examinations, such as “Start Deutsch 1”.

Names of people and cities are not included in the glossary.
